    The thunder rumbles
Rain pours clicking against the windows
    As the lightning strikes more

    I Heard that girl scream
    My ears went sore
I was trying to eat some cream
I thought it was a roar
I need to finish my chores

  9. Who I Am
    By Elizabeth Zenteno

    I bring upon wisdom
I have been here longer than you recognize
I am every page, every cover, every record and written word
I fill your days with entertainment and feeling
From glee ot the most bone crushing sorrow
I have been made by many and more to come
Yet you turn to computers and their glazed screens
Pushing me away so you can play your petty games
And though I'm still plenty I'm slowly withering away

  11. Trayvon Martin
    By: Sarah Bartley

Trayvon Martin was hip and young
    Hoody, Arizona, and skittles
But he didn't purchase a gun
    His life was precious
So why did you kill him?
    Because he loos suspicious?
    Was it because he's black?
Walking down a dark street area
Is that why he gt attack
    Shot in the back
    This is sad

    Trayvon didn't deserve this
He had parents who loved him
    You will always regret this
Is a white man to quick to shoot?
For the rest of your days you'll be locked up in a coop
    But wait
    You got out
    What ashame
You're lucky your father was about
You will go down in history
    As words can't explain
    R.I.P Trayvon Martin

  13. Shut up
    By Jacob Jarvis

    Hate you
    Shut up
    I'm busy
    Shut up
    Can't talk
    Get out

    Is it
    So hard
    To not be... Well you
    For three minutes
    Shut up
    Shut up
    Shut up!!!!

    Oh sorry
    I have to be respectful?
    Then forgive me
Because I can't be respectful since I don't respect anyone

  14. Current events poem

    I hear your whispers
    I see your phones
It's sometimes gross don't you know

    Your chitter chatter stops
    When Ms. Rusch walks in
You slam me hard so you can pretend
But just to let you know, we will never be friends

    Your constant noise
    From your gadget toys
    Gets on my nerves
And yes I'm a girl doll, no I'm not a perv

And oh your graffiti and constant I hate hers
    Pisses my off like damn
Don't you know your all to young to actually love a man

    So stop your chats
    Get to class
    You can pass

And since your graffiti ticks me so I'm asking you to stop!!
Cause you never know when a stall door may just drop
    PLOP!!!!!

  16. Point of View

    I sit above a can
    In the cold cold refrigerator
    I wait for the day
    When someone will guide me
    Out of this frigd compound
    That confines me

And once I am put to use
My journey comes to an end
For I have served my life's purpose
And you can then drink the sweet nectar
That I have granted acces to

    A little life

    By Mykhal Young 806

    My path is a blast
    Music makes it last

    People entertain
    The idealist's terrain

    Life comes along
To jump and sing the song

    The wind flows
    But only he knows

    Choices influence the way
    Some people see today

    Rainbows reflect
    What we can't detect

    Silence may convey
    One's life delay

    By: Eggy Godlee

Speeding down the street with a vroom
People shouting as it passes Firetruck
Rushing to a house facing doom
In order to save it they will need some luck
For on that house the lightening has just struck

  21. Cotton Candy

    By: Simone Drake

    Follow me to the sky.
We'll see the fluff fog the air
    And smile upon gritty ground.

In this moment we can stay,
like two peas in a pod.
Hand-in-hand as we smile upon gritty ground.

For the wind does shake loose our bonds.
Blown away into the sun's warm embrace,
    Soft, as sweet cotton candy.

    A thousand birds now sing.
A song so full of wonder and life.
Awoken, as we smile upon the gritty ground.

    We Ain't No Better
    by Nelaje Branch 803

The pain runs through my mind.
And the hurt in my soul.
Money, sex, skin, who knew that they could change my life?
Now I ain't talkin' about luch money or gettin' pushed into a locker.
I'm talkin' about lookin' death in the eyes by your own hands.
You may think we're at the top and we are all happy and good.
But we ain't no better then the ones bein' bullied in the hood!!

    The Figure
    by Jake Johnson

    A dark figure
    Steps in the nights
    Chill
    Eyes stay low
    With longiong
    Shrill

    Lock your doors
    And turn off your
    Lights
    The figure walks these
    Dark, cold
    Nights

    Children run
    Walk they do not
    Dare
    As the figure
    Sits in
    Despair

    He looks with sadness
    And deep
    Sorrow
    Hoping for
    A better
    Tomorrow

  24. Picture Day

    By Claudia T

    I remember
    When I was just
    A little girl.
My sister was four and a half.

    I had already
    Left for school and
    It was picture day.

    My sister got dressed
    On her own.
    Her shirt
    Was on backwards.
    There were fifteen hair clips
    In her hair.
    She managed to stomp
    In every puddle
    We passed
    On the way there.

    At school
    I fixed her hair.
    I switched her shirt.
And kissed and hugged her goodbye.
    She wouldn't let me go.

    I remember
    When I was just
    A little girl.
