  1. Air by Mikel Aki'lah

theres a city on the other side
    id rather live in peaceful
    ignorance
    im never going back
id rather lay in natures arms
    bask in natures presence
    clean air
    blue sky
    no fear
    no stress
    just air

  2. Roses are red, violets are blue
    The city is so dreary.
    The thunderous sounds of laughter
    Joy, fun, and depression
All cloud up everything, including life itself.

    The city is loud
    The farms are quiet
    We have calm
    Whereas they destruction
    The farm is much better
    Than that ugly apartment building
    From the eighties.

    They wanted an interesting life.
I could've given it to them.
Calm, serenity, and piece (for once!)
A break from their horrible, terrifying life.

    They have their GMOs
    But who cares?
    We bring life!
    We don't mass produce
    We don't manufacture
Or release that dreaded carbon dioxide
    We are life.
    And life is us.
Now, who wouldn't want to to live in a
    spacious from with everything,
    Peace, calm, and SLEEP!

  3. Alone

    By Alexa Newman

    Alone
    At last
    Peace everywhere
    No monsters here
    They can't hurt me
    Sparkling river so close
    My haven in the world
    Flowers smile at me
    Their beauty incredible
    An escape from the city
    the noise
    the hustle and bustle
    Sit next to
    a weeping willow
    Watch the koi fish
    Smell the fragrant flowers
    Take comfort in the shade
    of an old wood bench
    Beauty everywhere

  4. Walking Down the Dirt Road
    By: Jada Burke

When I'm walking down the dirt road,
I feel the dirt grip on my rubber boots
Its earthly scent reminds me of new life.

When I'm walking down the dirt road,
    i hear the birds' song
Their lovely songs create a tranquil environment,

When I'm walking down the dirt road,
I see dozens of trees surrounding me
They gently dance with the wind

When I'm walking down the dirt road,
I stop and close my eyes
And imagine that it's just nature and me.

  5. The Tree That Weeps
    By Sofreaka Sondericker

    It's called a weeping willow
    And with good reason too
The branches all droop down like tears
And the way it's slouched is rather blue.

I sit beneath the willow tree
    In the tree-made cave
I imagine all that it has sheltered
    Both the cowardly and brave

As it rains, the rain slips through
And through the branches it's creeping
    Gently dripping down on me
    As if its truly weeping

    It's quiet in the tree-cave
    I could almost fall asleep
    Asleep under the willow tree
The tree that seems to weep

  6. The Willow Tree
    Ana Finnerty-Haggerty

I sit under the Willow tree
And I am protected from the rain
The sun light shines through the leaves
And the leaves touch the terrain

It is dry under the Willow tree
    And the noise is subdued
    The rain stains my paper
    And my words become unglued

    The world is so clam
As I sit under the Willow tree
    I think of my summer
And how I am so free

My eyes wander through the leaves
And there is a flower field in the distance
colors of red and blue and violate
remind me of my timeless existence

I sit under the Willow tree

  7. That is Rain

    By Claudia T

Rain is a bunch of fairies dancing on the rooftops of houses,
Rain is the tiptoeing of teeny tiny mouses.

Rain is the snapping of God's nimble fingers
Rain is a chorus of soft gentle singers.

Rain is the beating of a newborn's heart,
Rain is a rich and creamy apple tart.
